Lib Dem consultation on public health, health care and social care
The Liberal Democrats have launched a consultation regarding an agenda for public health, and health and social care services.
Health minister Paul Burstow and the Liberal Democrat parliamentary committee on health and social care are inviting comments on the consultation paper about how the party's values, principles and policies are translated into government. The paper does not represent agreed party policy, but is intended to stimulate debate amongst Liberal Democrats about how to develop their policy platform. The consultation considers personal responsibility and the role of the state in relation to public health, and the integration of health and social care - including the role played by local government. It also addresses NHS commissioning, health outcomes and personalisation.
The consultation closes on October 31 2010.
